Provincial Marksmanship Success!

Our marksmanship team represented our corps exceptionally and brought home plenty of hardware from the Provincial Marksmanship Championship April 23 and 24 at HMCS Cabot in St. John’s. Overall, the team of MWO Samantha Burke, MWO Amber King, Sgt Daniel Hewitt, Cpl Jessica Perry-Nichol and LCpl Joey Williams, coached by Lt Didham, finished third place taking home the bronze medal. There were some outstanding individual performances, especially in standing shooting, with MWO Burke finishing 1st overall and MWO King 2nd. MWO Burke has now advanced on to the National Marksmanship Championships as an individual competitor. This year’s nationals are held in Gimli, MB from May 2-7. Congratulations to all team members and good luck to MWO Burke! You can view the results from all provinces and follow along with the nationals at this link: hw7.ca

Tuesday, Nov 10 – No Cadets

Wednesday, Nov 11
We ask all cadets to meet at the LCdr Paddon Building in full uniform at 7:30am. It is an early day, but an extremely important one to us all. There will be a bus there to meet us, which will bring us to the various Remembrance Services we will be participating in. We will post complete details as Remembrance Day approaches!

It definitely looks like a busy weekend, but please bear in mind that band, marksmanship and biathlon are optional – we encourage cadets to attend but they are by no means obliged. All of the Poppy activities this weekend are by volunteer only. We look forward to seeing all of our cadets on parade for Remembrance Day on Wednesday!
